Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If your organization works within our focus areas (education, PVE/CVE, or social polarisation) and your staff includes individuals with a teaching, psychosocial support background or training or a similar equivalent, you are likely eligible.

  • Course development + Levels 1–3 training: 4–6 weeks (faster track) or longer depending on staff commitments.
  • Course delivery: 4–8 weeks depending on facilitators, delivery mode, and participant numbers.
  • Assessment: IC coding (AI-assisted for efficiency + cross-checked by consultants).

Trainees describe it as:

  • “Fun”, “High level but made easier”, “Challenging at first, but doable”
  • "I found the training to be incredibly useful. The course content was informative and explained IC in a comprehensive yet concise manner without going into too much information overload. This works especially well for people who have a busy schedule. The shorter duration of videos and the accompanying quizzes were useful in retaining and consolidating information. Most importantly, I enjoyed the process. It was not tedious or monotonous to go through. I looked forward to watching the videos because they were engaging and interesting. Even the quizzes were fun to do."

Each level includes films, quizzes, teamwork tasks, and reflection tools.

  • LMS licence per organisation: £500/year
  • Per-person training fee: £60 (support & IT maintenance)
  • Typical project total: ~£15,000 (plus 12.5% overheads; tax may apply)
    – Includes Senior IC Consultant support, facilitator certification, assessor training, mentoring, and AI-assisted coding

Notes

  • Costs may increase if projects require:
    – In-country fieldwork
    – A completely new IC course (outside existing IP)
    – New films or IT-based course delivery
    – Conference presentations
    – Human (manual) IC coding
    – Peer-reviewed publications reporting on the project
  • Costs may decrease if:
    – Only Levels 1–2 or 1-3 are requested
    – The number of trainees and delivery roll-out is small
    – Larger projects with more participants benefit from economies of scale — the more people you train, the lower the per-person cost (ie: discounts for 50+ users)
  • For humanitarian or resource-constrained contexts, please get in touch to discuss negotiated costs.

  • Your request is reviewed for best fit (course type, costs, and timeline).
  • Leadership is invited to preview Level 1 training (free).
  • If you choose to proceed, a contract is agreed upon and you will be assigned a Senior IC Consultant who will guide you through the course development, LMS training, and IC AI-assisted coding.

  • Schools, universities, and corporations
  • Community and rehabilitation centres
  • Internally displaced persons (IDP) camps
  • One-to-one scaffolded conversations

We assess the participant’s Integrative Complexity (IC) score — a measure of resilience against zero-sum (black and white) thinking, to what extent participants are able to view various social concepts with ‘beyond black and white thinking’ or higher IC. Raising IC levels increases openness, flexibility, and behavioural change.
See Results for evidence.

  • In-person action learning groups (12–18 participants, 2 facilitators)
  • Hybrid sessions with multimedia and group work
  • Online professional training (policy, psychology, conflict, education)
  • Zoom groups (6–8 participants)
  • One-to-one sessions with a trained provider

Yes — courses for individuals are under development and will be hosted by professional training platforms. Watch this space for updates.
